London

I can see what so many Australians love about London however I honestly prefer New York City. I was super lucky to have good weather in London when I was there which is of course virtually unheard of even in the summer. Overall it’s a must do in your lifetime but I feel no need to go back.

Accommodation: YHA Earl’s Court
so after my original accomodation fell through, I had to frantically find somewhere else to stay with little knowledge in a short amount of time. A guy I was travelling with at the time lived in London and helped me choose a place in a good area. I went with YHA Earl’s Court. The area is nice and the Earl’s Court station on the tube was central and had a few good train lines. The hostel however was AWFUL. There was legit an 80+ year old woman with a walking stick staying there… Now can someone tell me how this place still calls itself a youth hostel? There were families, old people, teenagers.. All except actual young travellers. Now maybe I would have realise this if I had more time to plan but this is what I got. DO NOT STAY here if you want to have any fun. Boring, but I guess at least you could get s good night sleep. The bathroom facilities were new but very average. Wouldn’t recommend.

Things to do:
See the sights: to be honest they are kind of underwhelming… Big Ben isn’t really that big, Buckingham Palace isn’t that spectacular, and all the rest is kind of eh… Sorry to be a negative Nancy but I just didn’t see what the big fuss was. I DID however like taking a photo in the telephone box haha.
Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour: I mean obviously the reason you go to London right? I absolutely loved it and it was also a beautiful moment for me to remember my grandpa who recently passed away as HP was something we loved and shared together. I love the HP series and if you do then you need to go here because it’s wonderful.
The Ship: it’s like this indoor/outdoor bar place near the fancy suburb of Chelsea. We drank all day here and if you get the right weather it’s so good. Oh and apparently Sunday is the time to go.
