The Gold Coast is your staple Australian family holiday. It has really grown over the years so there is more to do but still has beautiful beaches to enjoy the Queensland sunshine
Accomodation: I have always stayed with family so I have not needed to stay in a hotel but everyone I know just chooses one of the many apartment towers on the beach in Surfers.
Things to do:
Surfers Paradise: You of course go here just to see it but there are many more better beaches to visit that have less people. There is lots to see, do and eat so check it out when you get there.
Movie World/Dreamworld: Both are really the reason so many people visit the Gold Coast. They are the two big theme parks… each with their own special rides! You cant really choose which one is better just make sure you go to both and have fun. If you go during school holidays… good luck to you! The parks are so freaking busy and sometimes you can wait an hour for one hour… it is a bit of a joke to be honest.
Wet and Wild/ White Water World: next to Movie World and Dreamworld respectively, you can buy tickets that include entry to their respective waterpark. They are heaps of fun however only worth it in the warmer months. Again, depending on the time of year… there can be long waits.
