Cancun

Given that we knew we were heading to Playa Del Carmen next, we decided to just stay around the hotel and relax. I would honestly recommend that you just skip cancun and go somewhere less touristy. Stay somewhere that is all inclusive but somewhere that doesn’t attract so many families.

Accommodation: GR Solaris

This was all inclusive so you pay fuck all and get everything included. A lot of other hotels say all inclusive but apparently you have to be careful because they are tricky with what they include. This place included everything and I was drunk all the time. It is on a beautiful part of the beach but there are lots of families here, which I obviously hated.

Things to do:

Chichen Itza: Seeing the ancient ruins was amazing and we had a fantastic day. The only issue with chichen itza is that it is flooded withvendors trying to sell you shit. Some of it is really cool but remember that you can always find it cheaper somewhere else. The issue with the vendors is that their stalls are all owned by bad people apparently and its best to not give your money to them. We went on a tour with Cancun Passion and they were great they show you around the ruins and also take you to a remote Mexican village to eat traditional Myan food. The spicey sauce was the best one we had had.

Cenote Ik kil: This is located over an hour out of cancun but the tour bus took us here. This is such an amazing cenote (swimming hole) and is so deep into the ground. There are a lot of people here and many of the surfaces are concrete because it is such a popular destination.
